PEO-DP (DP Operations Excellence Programme)

Do you know about the DP Operations Excellence Programme created by Petrobras?
At the end of 2021, Petrobras created the DP Operations Excellence Programme, known as PEO-DP, with the aim of preventing collisions and allisions with Offshore Units, setting out minimum requirements for contracted Companies to draw up an Action Plan applicable to vessels fitted with a Dynamic Positioning (DP) System.
The programme was created from diagnoses arising out of the collisions between 2014 and 2020, drawing on the PPACD and HSE databases as its reference sources.

The purpose is to prevent any kind of accident, as well as to be prepared for any eventuality, anticipating what can go wrong, how serious it can be and how often such a failure can occur, creating a continuous improvement plan.

The programme has 7 strategic pillars:
. Management . Training . Procedures
. Operation . Maintenance . DP Trials
For the programme to succeed, there must be full buy-in from the Shipping companies, with the main objective of preventing position losses on Vessels fitted with a dynamic positioning system, using all the fundamentals of the Petrobras Standards, IMO, IMCA, MTS and OCIMF Guidelines, The Nautical Institute and Maritime Authority Regulations.
All Shipping companies were to submit an Action Plan by the end of February 2022 and, subsequently, to implement it, with results due by August 2022.
Vision Marine Nautical Training Center is very proud to be able to help several Shipping companies with the solutions for their respective Action Plans — companies such as Grupo Bravante, Subsea7, Oceanpact, Ocyan and Astromarítima — as well as to provide the best training for every officer who comes to us and believes in our work, who will be very well prepared to take up their duties on board.
