About the Training

Compreender a estrutura, realizar a leitura correta das especificações, medir o diâmetro real e interpretar fatores de segurança e tabelas de carga. Aplicar métodos de inspeção (visual e interna), reconhecer os tipos de deterioração e aplicar rigorosamente os critérios de descarte baseados nas normativas. Inspecionar terminações tipo soquete teoricamente e executar autonomamente na prática a medição, a abertura para inspeção interna, a análise de defeitos e o preenchimento técnico do registro de inspeção do cabo.

What you will learn:

  • Standards, Structure and Technical Specification — Applicable standards (NBR 4309, ISO 4309, DNVGL-ST-0377), wire rope structure (strands, core, king wire), actual vs. nominal diameter measurement and safety factor
  • Inspection, Discard Criteria and Sockets — Inspection types per Annex E of ISO 4309:2017, discard criteria (broken wires, diameter reduction, corrosion), critical deformations and visual inspection of sockets per EN 13411/NBR 11900-5
  • Theoretical Assessment — Written assessment on regulatory content, discard criteria, sizing and operational procedures
  • Practical Workshop: Wire Rope Measurement and Inspection — Actual diameter measurement with calipers, internal inspection with hooks/spikes, damage identification in samples and completion of Inspection Record per ISO 4309:2017
  • Practical Assessment — Visual and practical checklist for identification and classification of anomalies/defects in physical samples inspected

Who it's for:

Train workers to plan, organise, carry out and safely intervene in activities at height, giving them the theoretical and practical knowledge to identify, assess and control occupational risks and impeding conditions, so as to protect the health and physical wellbeing of workers, and to master emergency response procedures.

They are professionals who have served in vessel command, as chief engineers and in dynamic positioning (DP) operations at sea, combining international certifications with years of field experience. This hands-on background ensures learning that is connected to the reality of maritime operations, with real-world examples and a focus on safety.
