About the Training

Train authorised entrants and attendants to recognise, assess and control the hazards and risks inherent in confined space operations, giving them the essential theoretical and practical knowledge to meet the requirements of NR-33, ABNT NBR 16577, NBR 14606 and other related standards, so as to ensure safe entry, prevent accidents and protect the team from harm.

What you will learn:

  • Institutional Opening, Legal Basis and Fundamental Concepts — Main legal basis (Ordinance 3,214/78, NR-33), supporting national/international standards (NBR 14606, OSHA 1910.146) and fundamental confined space concepts per NR-33 and ABNT NBR 16577
  • Responsibilities and Emergency/Rescue — Roles of the Entry Supervisor, Authorized Workers and Attendant, Rescue Team duties and requirements of the Entry and Work Permit System (PET)
  • OSH Management, Training and Risk Assessment — Requirements for PET issuance and validity, training periodicity (annual refresher and supervisor training), medical examinations per NRs 07 and 31, and Preliminary Risk Analysis (PRA) preparation
  • Atmospheric Hazards, Control Measures and Ventilation — Oxygen reference levels, classification of asphyxiant/flammable/toxic gases, lockout/tagout (LOTO) control measures and ventilation systems in confined spaces

Workers designated as attendants and authorized workers, contracted or subcontracted in the naval, offshore, shipyard, port and metallurgical industries, who perform activities in confined spaces, in accordance with the requirements of Regulatory Standard No. 33 (NR-33) and ABNT NBR 16577
