About the Training

Train workers to recognise, assess and control the risks inherent in operating and maintaining machinery and equipment, giving them the essential theoretical and practical knowledge to meet the requirements of NR-12 and related standards, so that operations are safe and the crew on board is protected from harm.

What you will learn:

  • Introduction, Hazards and Protection — Legal basis of Law 6,514/1977 and CLT, mechanical hazards per NBR 213-1 and hierarchy of protective measures (collective, administrative and PPE)
  • Physical Layout, Devices and Management — Safety devices (interlocks and risk assessment per NBR 14009/EN ISO 12100), locked-out guards (Item 12.44) and document management per NR-26
  • Field Practical Training and Inspection — Visual inspection of guards, verification of interlocking systems and emergency stop buttons, with physical inspection checklist per NR-12

Our instructors

They are professionals who have served in vessel command, as chief engineers and in dynamic positioning (DP) operations at sea, combining international certifications with years of field experience. This hands-on background ensures learning that is connected to the reality of maritime operations, with real-world examples and a focus on safety.
