Training Course for Confined Space Entry Supervisors (NR-33)

Train workers to act as entry supervisors, confirming their theoretical, technical and regulatory knowledge of NR-33, so that they can identify confined spaces, assess and control risks, and issue the related safety documentation.
40h

About the Training

Train workers to act as entry supervisors, confirming their theoretical, technical and regulatory knowledge of NR-33, so that they can identify confined spaces, assess and control risks, issue and close the Entry and Work Permit (PET), size ventilation and operate gas detectors, as well as coordinate emergencies and rescue operations with vertical access equipment and first aid in the field.
Duration
40 hours
Language
Portuguese and English
Modality
In person

What you will learn:

  • Regulatory Fundamentals and Responsibilities — Confined space definition per NR-33 and NBR 16577:2017, duties of the Technical Officer, Entry Supervisor, Attendant and Rescue Team, and area registration/signage
  • Hazard, Risk and IPVS Atmosphere — Concept of occupational hazard and risk, Supervisor's role in the PRA, IPVS atmosphere, SDS, oxygen content, explosive range (LEL/UEL) and tolerance limits for H₂S and CO
  • Measurement, Ventilation and PET Structure — Certification and calibration of multi-gas detectors, ventilation principles (general dilution and local exhaust), PET documentation structure and energy control via LOTO
  • Legislation, Classified Areas and First Aid — Civil/criminal liability under NR-33, Respiratory Protection Program (RPP), classification of Ex Zones (0, 1, 2, 20, 21, 22), operational rescue phases and first aid protocols (ABCDE, CPR)
  • Field Practice: Measurement, LOTO and Mechanical Ventilation — Bump Test on multi-gas detectors, continuous sampling, PRA completion and PET issuance, practical LOTO system installation and assembly of industrial blowers/exhaust fans
  • Field Practice: Vertical Access and Rescue Simulation — Inspection and fitting of full-body harnesses, tripod/monopod assembly and mechanical advantage systems (3:1 and 4:1), integrated simulation of Phases 1 to 5 with victim lifting and extraction
  • Debriefing and Practical First Aid — Application of first aid protocol after victim extraction, technical review of simulation phases, PET closure and operational debriefing

Who it's for:

Workers designated to act as Entry Supervisor in confined spaces, in accordance with the requirements of Regulatory Standard No. 33 (NR-33)
